Cheryl May is the Systemic Design Association's board secretary. She is a consultant and PhD research student at London South Bank University. Her interest is in socioecological leadership within social purpose organisations. She is a four-time executive director who has scaled up initiatives by establishing partnership networks and building systems that support collaboration and communities of practice. She worked as a journalist and theatre director before founding a ‘green’ business that changed the course of her work to social innovation. She led the development of the 211 information system in Canada, which received the Head of the Public Service Award for Excellence in Service Delivery. Cheryl was the practice lead, social innovation, at MaRS and received her MDes, Strategic Foresight and Innovation, at OCADU. She has been an advisor and board member to the Canadian Race Relations Foundation since 2014.
